TrueSil A60 Silicone Rubber

This material is a little softer and more flexible than the TrueSil A50. It's harder, stronger, and more elastic properties make it a better material for flexibility in specific applications. This material has a similar softness to the TrueSil B80 with its hardness, elasticity, tensile strength, tear strength, and heat deflection temperature all being higher.

Types of Molds

  • BLOCK MOLD:It is a one-piece mold & is usually made as an integral part of the tooling or dies. Die or fixtures are designed in such a way that they allow rotation about the axis of the mold (die) shaft with axial displacements being limited.
  • SKIN MOLD:It is a multi-piece mold & is made from several zirconium, silicon, or magnesium alloys in one or more parts. Since each of these parts has a different thickness it can be easily separated from the tooling or dies. The outer surface of the mold consists of a thin metallic skin over which are placed the rubber or plastic forming material as well as the desired part itself.
  • GLOVE MOLD: The entire mold is made of rubber or plastic. As in the block mold, this type of mold also consists of a one-piece or multi-piece integral mold with a skin over which the rubber forming material, as well as the part itself, is placed.
  • MOTHER MOLD: It is made of a metal (zirconium or silicon) and is placed directly on a tooling plate.
